Lexus LS 460

Compare the New Genesis G90 to its Dallas-Area Competitor

In your search for a large luxury sedan, you're going to have plenty of models from which to choose. If you're searching for the ultimate in large luxury sedans, however, your options get narrowed significantly. While many people only think of the tried-and-true names when it comes to their car search, our Genesis models are gaining praise throughout the industry for delivering a premium automotive experience at a tremendous value. As proof, consider the following comparison that puts the Genesis G90 sedan up against the Lexus LS. To keep things on an even playing field, we looked at introductory models of each sedan for this comparison.

You didn't get to this point in life by overpaying for goods and services, so it only makes sense to fully evaluate the true cost of owing a premium sedan. When you compare these two models, the Genesis G90 starts at a significantly lower Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price than the Lexus LS does, allowing you to save the difference, add amenities to your G90, or upgrade the G90 to a more lavishly-equipped trim level. As a matter of fact, you can get behind the wheel of a top-of-the-line G90 that comes with optional all-wheel drive for less than it would cost for the base LS 500 model when all-wheel drive is added to the Lexus.

Interior Comfort

The Genesis G90 is wider and taller than the LS, a size advantage that shows up when you sit inside the cabin of each sedan. The G90 gives front and second-row passengers more headroom and shoulder room, with significantly more legroom up front for your comfort when you're out on a long drive across the state. In total, the G90 offers 13.8 more cubic feet of passenger space than does the LS 500.

The 3.3-liter turbo V6 that comes standard in the G90 makes more horsepower than the 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine that's available for th3e Lexus LS 500h. When you compare top-of-the-line engine options for each sedan, the G90 offers a 5.0-liter V8 that pushes out more horsepower than does the 3.5-liter twin turbo V6 in the LS. Finally, and possibly of most importance to our Irving and Arlington customers who face a tough daily commute, the G90 turns in a faster 0-60 mph time than does the LS, and it also outperforms the Lexus in the crucial "Passing 45 to 65 mph" category -- which can make all the difference when you're trying to merge into interstate traffic.

In our experience, we've found that the length of a warranty is an excellent indicator of how secure an automaker is in the quality of their vehicle. It's noteworthy, then, that the Genesis G90 offers longer basic new car limited warranty, powertrain warranty, corrosion protection plan, and roadside assistance coverage than you'll find on the Lexus LS. While most of these plans give you an extra year of protection beyond the LS coverage terms, the powertrain warranty for the G90 covers 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The Lexus LS only gives you a 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain protection, leaving you responsible for potential repairs much sooner.
